Our host family is great. They are warm, friendly, interesting and have wonderfully wicked sarcastic senses of humor. They have three dogs, and they all love sports. A match made in heaven!
Stevan and Lynette Jeftha are our hosts. Stevan is a traffic consultant, and Lynette works for a United Way-affiliated organization. They are in their mid-fifties, and have the energy of much younger people. They are very involved in church and community activities, but also like to have fun.

Their children are Deidre and Darren, who are both in their mid-twenties. They are very outgoing and seem to know everyone in Cape Town. Deidre knows famous cricketers and has friends that look like international models. Deidre lives in the house. Darren just got married and lives in his own home.

Darren knows everything about global sports, and is more tuned-in to American politics than 99% of Americans. He watched all of the presidential and vice-presidential debates. He is a big New York Giants fan, but we brought him a Washington Redskins RGIII jersey so we are trying to convert him. Give us another week or two and he will be singing "Hail to the Redskins"!
